Description: Sweet Basil is “…a tender annual herb, with very dark green, ovate leaves, greyish-green beneath, an erect square stem up to 50 cm (24 in) high, bearing whorls of two-lipped greenish or pinky-white flowers. Extraction process: Steam distillation
Suggested Use: Use in a diffuser or dilute in a vegetable or massage oil. Essential Oil Safety, 2nd ed., recommends maximum dermal use level of 3.3% (p. 206). This means that in 1 teaspoon of fractionated coconut oil or it’s equivalent vegetable oil (approx 5ml), you would mix up to 5 drops of Organic Sweet Basil ct linalool essential oil (p. 48). Application: Sweet Basil has been “used…[for] Insect bites (mosquito, wasp), insect repellent. Gout, muscular aches and pains, rheumatism. Bronchitis, coughs, earache, sinusitis. Dyspepsia, flatulence, nausea. Cramps, scanty periods. Colds, fever, flu, infectious disease.
