Suggested Use: Use in a diffuser or dilute in a vegetable or massage oil. Essential Oil Safety, 2nd ed., says the maximum dermal use should be 1.1% (p. 376. Reprinted by permission of author.). This means that in 3 teaspoons (about 15 ml) of fractionated coconut oil, or its equivalent vegetable oil, one should mix up to 5 drops of Organic Oregano Essential Oil.
Application: Oregano has been “…used as a traditional remedy for digestive upsets, respiratory problems (asthma, bronchitis, coughs, etc.), colds and flu as well as for inflammations of the mouth and throat.” ( The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Essential Oils. p. 188. Caution: Proper dilution required. Do not use on hypersensitive, diseased or damaged skin, or on children under 2 years of age. Hazards: Drug interaction; inhibits blood clotting; embryotoxicity; skin irritation (low risk), mucous membrane irritation (moderate risk). Contraindicated for pregnancy and breastfeeding. If pregnant, taking medication, or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician. Keep out of reach of children .
