Suggested Use: Use in a diffuser or dilute in a vegetable or massage oil. Essential Oil Safety, 2nd ed., recommends a maximum dermal use level of 0.5% (p. 255). This means that in 4 teaspoons (about 20 ml) of fractionated coconut oil or its equivalent, you may mix up to 3 drops of Organic Clove Bud Essential Oil (p. 48. Reprinted by permission of author.).
Application: Clove may support healing, act as a mental stimulant, enhance sleep, inspire dreams, and produce a sense of protection and courage.
Caution: Strongly dermocaustic, sensitizing. Skin sensitization may occur. Hazards: Drug interaction; may contain methyleugenol; may inhibit blood clotting, embryotoxicity; skin sensitization (moderate risk); mucous membrane irritation (moderate risk). Cautions dermal: Hypersensitive, diseased, or damaged skin (EOS. p. 255). If pregnant or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician before use. Keep out of reach of children. Store in a cool, dark place.
