Suggested Use: Use in a diffuser or dilute in a vegetable or massage oil. Essential Oil Safety, 2nd ed., recommends maximum dermal use level of 0.07% (p. 248). This means that in 10 teaspoons of fractionated coconut oil or it’s equivalent vegetable oil (approx 50 ml), you would mix up to 1 drop of Organic Cinnamon Bark essential oil (p. 48. Application: Best known for its healing and immune system support properties.
Warning: Do not apply cinnamon bark essential oil to the skin undiluted, as skin sensitization will occur (see the note on skin sensitization in How to Use Essential Oils). Cinnamon Bark essential oil is contraindicated for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. Hazards include “drug interaction; may inhibit blood clotting; embryotoxicity, skin sensitization (high risk); mucous membrane irritation (low risk)” (p. 248). If pregnant or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician before use. Keep out of reach of children. Store in a cool, dark place.
